Money
I've been thinking about money lately. It's presence or absence can be both a burden and blessing. I had a charge on my bank account that I am quite sure was unauthorized. It wasn't for a large sum of money, but the possibility that someone accessed my account is unsettling. Today at work, one of our waitresses received a counterfeit $50 bill. The police came. It is weird that people do that sort of thing. Someone else winds up eating it. Then, I lost my paycheck from two weeks ago.
My overall feeling is that one, I need to be more careful and two, money cannot be trusted.
Jesus talked a lot about money, it needs to be shared, used wisely, yet not hoarded or trusted.
What are your thoughts about money?

I've found that money can go either way...some days I feel hopelessly irresponsible (despite the fact that I tithe and God blesses me, though I somehow end up splurging on something unnecessary), and other days I feel like money doesn't control me and, given some effort, I can actually be responsible with it.
But it all comes down to something McCracken said on his blog..."Do I own [my money] or does [my money] own me?"
Yeah Rob, money can go either way.
Good story. Tonight at work, I met a lady who went to a baptist church in town. I told her I went to the Wesleyan church. She asked about schooling. I told her about BBC and my ministry position and even about being engaged. She was inspired and wanted to help and gave me like a $40 tip. What a blessing. I love it when God's people are stewards of God's resources. It's nice too, when it comes your way.
